The venator-class Star Destroyer as seen in the opening of Star Wars Eps III, created for CGSociety's Hardcore Modeling Challenge #9: Star Wars Tribute. The original idea was a battle between the Star Wars ships and the Starcraft ships (since starcraft II just got announced recently too) but the timeframe of the competition didn’t allow for it.

All references were taken from screenshots of the movie plus
the cross-section illustration. Modeled entirely in Maya and rendered with mental ray (occlusion pass) and composited in Photoshop.
